We are Charly and Freja Phoenix, a married couple. We met in the tattoo industry 14 years ago, when Charly became Freja’s master and mentor. Since then, we’ve shared a passion for the art of drawing, designing, and tattooing.
We have 14 and 18 years of experience, respectively, in the magical world of tattooing. We’ve spent a lot of time traveling to some of Europe’s most renowned tattoo conventions and have collectively won a host of awards and been featured in articles in leading magazines and newspapers.
In 2017, we opened “Denmark’s coziest” tattoo shop, The Phoenix Ink, in the heart of Odense. Over the years, we built a solid team of talented tattoo artists around the shop. After five fantastic years, we handed the reins over to a longtime friend and colleague, who carried on the shop in our spirit while we set out on a new adventure in South Funen. Unfortunately, he had to close the shop after about two years due to personal circumstances.
For 3.5 years, we worked out of our professional private studio, MR & MRS PHOENIX TATTOO, in Vester Hæsinge near Faaborg, with the Svanninge Hills right in our backyard. In mid-2025, Charly partially retired as a tattoo artist due to a bad back following several surgeries for a herniated disc. Freja then decided to revive The Phoenix Ink, and when she found our current location, the adventure began anew.
Today, the shop is owned and operated by Freja. You can still see Charly at the shop when his health allows it.
